Storage

It's coming close to the dreaded winter time, and I need to store my car somewhere. I can't decided weather I want to get one of those pop-up garages, or find a self storage place that will let me keep it there. Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Storage

Pop up storage is pricey, but you can see you car whenever you want. No monthly rent, and you'll have it forever. On the other hand, the storage unit will not always be accessable, people can break into it, etc.

I dont mind spending the money on the pop-up storage, but i'm afraid that it might collapse during snow storms.

Re: Storage

reinforce it, where needed and throw an extra tarp over it.

I have one of the portable car tent type garages that I keep my car in over the winter (I poured a 4" concrete slab over 6 mil poly & gravel to rest it on), and I have no problems with it (and i live in area of Canada that gets a lot of snow)

- but -

I do go out and clean the snow off it - because it's only a tent, not heavy structure - so would i gamble and leave 30" of snow on the top? No way.

if you can't be bothered to clean the snow off the pop up tent garage then it's definitely not a viable option for you

The only thing I really don't like about it the fact that it's not as secure as proper garage - but that's a whole lotta money eh?
