smokin
I don't know if I should even bother to ask a question anymore, but on the grounds that I hope certain people can swallow thewir pride. . . here goes
I just put on my Pacesetter LTs, and I finally started it up. Everything worked fine, but it seemed like my headers were literally smoking It didn't feel, sound, or smell like a leak, but right near the motor, they slowing emitted smoke while idling. The only thing I can think of is the gasket is warming up again, and "burning" on, or something. Because the headers were put on maybe 3-4 days ago, I took my time putting the rest of the car back together, and it has been cold in my barn where the car is all of these last days. Could the gasket sealer have dried and siezed, and now just be warming up again as it runs??? Or are the cold headers just steaming? it maka no sense!

Re: smokin
Its normal for the headers to smoke for 15 or 20 minutes when you first start up the car. Their is alot of junk on there that is burning off. If the smoking persists for a long period, I would start to look for leaks.
