Should I buy this 1997 Formula WS.6???

There's a guy that comes into work and drives a 1997 Formula. It's pretty rough, and he wants to sell it in June. So I asked what price. He said "Prolly somewhere under $1000. I said $900. He said deal. I haven't seen a car like this anywhere..

1997 Formula WS.6. Ram Air.
White with blue stripes.
Chrome Wheels. With blue center caps.
Red "WS.6" badges on the fenders. 1 on the rear bumper.
Black Leather Interior.
A4.
Power Antenna.
Hard Top.

He said be bought the car brand new from the dealer. Is this some special edtion vehicle I'm not aware of?

Never seen then but I Foudn this online...

"There were only 486 of these cars (Formula WS.6) built in 1997"

note: this was NOT offical stattment from neither pontiac nor GM ( just a private individula on car doamin showing pictures etc.,)

Anyways, for $900 I would buy it withount thinking.. as long as it either had a good looking interior/body or a enginge that ran..... if it was a car that had a good looking interior/body and a running engine then I would kind of feel guilty for paying only $900......

How do you know its a real WS6? I don't recall fender badges on a WS6. Did you check the build code tag to see if there is a "WS6" code on the tag?

I'd buy it, even if you don't want to restore or drive it, I'm sure its worth more then 900 bucks as a parts car.

Everytime I've seen it I have been working and can't go outside of the store to check the VIN. The bumper the passenger side quarter/fender/tail light are hit. It's not in that bad of shape.

What exactly are we talking about here? There was no limited production WS6 in 1997. There were no factory stripes. There were 2,827 WS6 T/A coupes built and 463 WS6 T/A convertibles built in 1997. That's about 1/2 of the total T/A's built that year, and the largest number of WS6's built until the 2002 model year.

I was just thinking it was some limited production vehicle. I think I'm going to go ahead and buy it when the time comes.
