SES Codes??

My car is throwing codes -P0410 and P1415. I know P0410 is for the AIR Pump and I checked the relay by switching it with my fog light relay and the relay works. So I guess I will be replacing that damn thing. But code P1415 is a dealer code. Any help on that one please? And how hard is it to replace the AIR Pump?

Re: SES Codes??

P0410 sets when the PCM turns on the AIR pump (when it is supposed to be off) and it doesn't see an increase in the O2 content shown by the O2 sensors, or it sets because in open loop (when the pump is supposed to be on) the O2 sensors do not show a lean condition. May be a problem with something other than the relay. Pump may not be working (they rust and freeze up), check valve may be stuck, air hose may be melted, etc.

P1415 = Secondary Air Injection (AIR) system Bank 1 . This code helps narrow down the problem to the drivers side of the system.

When you get the code, go to Shoebox's code list. That is LT1 specific. You appear to have used a generic list (or AutoZone used their generic list) and it shows the P1415 code as "manufacturer specific" forcing you to look elsewhere.

Re: SES Codes??

This is the 4th Camaro ive owned and never had any problems so I have no damn clue how to fix this. Change the pump or is there a better step by step to cancel out changing it? Thanks for the reply also.

Re: SES Codes??

There was a recall on the airpump. Check to see if your car still needs to have the fix.
