SES Code P0410

I see by searching that there is a recall for this - secondary AIR injection. I haven't had this car since it was new, anyone know how to tell if this recall work was done already? Do I need to call the dealer with a VIN or can I tell by checking the car?

Call the dealer with the VIN and he should be able to tell you if the recall was done. But the recall dealt with wiring problems, and exhaust getting back into the pump and causing corrosion and the AIR pump to sieze up. P0410 is based on the PCM cycling the AIR pump and not seeing the expected change in the O2 sensors when the pump is cycled.

Hmm. So am I understanding that you are saying that code may not involve the TSB work? I have checked the fuse for the AIR pump and it is good. Can you give me any more direction?

IIRC, 0410 can be faulty o2 sensor as well?

I don't see how. The code is for the AIR pump.

The PCM looks at the O2 sensor while it cycles the AIR pump. It sets if the sensor voltage is constant near 400mV in open loop, or if it fails to drop below 222mV when it turns the pump on in closed loop. But you can't get the code if there is a faulty O2 sensor, because the PCM will not run the P0410 diagnostic unless the O2 sensor had passed the "mid bias volt" test, or if there are any active O2 sensor codes.

I am going to try resetting it. Which fuse gets pulled?
