Hello. I am considering a 94 z28 ls1 6-speed. were there any major factory recalls for any particular parts on this year/car?

 

There was no LS1 in 94.

The 5.7 V8 was called a LT1 in 1993-1997.

In 1998-2002 the LS1 was used.

 

ok, then on that note was there any recalls for the 94 lt1? just wonderin cus i got one

 

im sorry. that was a typo. I had just read a review on the ls1 before I posted that. but yeah, were there any factory recalls on 94 lt1's?

 

I dont know about the 94 but the 95 had a problem with the 2nd gear shift forks in the trans. it would bend and cause trouble getting it into 2nd on the down shift. GM replaced a lot of them, and I think in 96 they changed to steel forks. Good Luck

 

There was an AIR recall. I'm not aware of any others.


AIR = smog pump. It's an electric air pump that puts fresh air into the exhaust and allows the cat to fire up sooner. GM had a problem with the electric valve inside the pump failing. The solution was a new pump with an external vacuum operated valve.

 

AIR recall was applicable to 1995 and newer, not to 1994.
