1998 LS1 Cylinder Head Recall information

I understand some 1998 LS1 cylinder heads were recalled because of improper machining (caused an exhaust leak, I think). Do any of you know how I could determine if my car, which I bought used, was subject to this recall notice? Thanks for your help.

Drive your car to the dealership and have them run your vin. Might cost a few bucks but will be able to get you some info.

Please follow the guidelines, and post engine specific questions on the correct forum... in this case that would be "LS1 Tech".

Moving....

Sorry... went ot the wrong forum. Suggest you repost on LS1 Tech... somebody there will know about a recall, if one exists.

Called a dealer and Chev customer service and gave them the VIN and both said "no problems". Whew! All you need to do is call your dealer or Chev customer service at 800-222-1020 and give them you VIN. The can check for all recalls.

Service bulletins are not so easy. If anyone knows how to find out about service bulletins online and how to match them to your vehicle, I'd appreciate it.
