Question about SLP. SS
I hope I have the right message board for this. I'm looking at buying a 2001 SS, SLP modifications car. It has the SLP exhaust, ( Center outlet). The car has a SLP Sticker on the door post and I'm not sure as to what was all done by SLP. The car was sent out after production to have the SLP Mods done. I would like to know if the SLP mods can vary or are they all the same. The sticker does not have what I see as a code system for the mods done. Or is this not a big thing, Maby just the exhaust not much more. Thanks!
I'm in the desert right now, so I can't double-check everything, but best I can remember:
A "normal" SS package consists of the hood, rear spoiler, silver 10 spoke wheels and "SS" badging.
The "optional" SS stuff is upgraded bilstein shocks & springs, chrome 10 spokes, center mount exhaust (not sure if this was the only SLP exhaust offered for 2001 or not), upgraded rear differential, gloss black nose "grill" with "SS" emblem (instead of matte black with "Camaro"), and then cosmetic interior stuff ("SS" floor mats, rear cargo matt, badge above radio, "SS owner's portfolio).
I think that's it, but I can't check for sure.
Mine came with/has the chrome wheels, center mount exhaust and rear "SS" cargo mat.
Like said above, there's a decal on the passenger door with any optional SLP items the car was ordered with.

Thanks! the door post just has vehicle weight front and rear on the SLP sticker, I don't see any code numbers. It says it was sent out to New Jersy for the SLP work. I don't see anything on the dash above the radio other than camaro in red. SLP did everything the same on all camaros sent to them or did some get more SLP add ons than others? I'm thinking it might be a SLP clone or somthing. Thanks for you replies!!

I think the center mount exhaust came with a SLP air lid. The sticker on the passengers door will tell what was added in addition to the standard SS equipment.

SLP did the hood spoiler, wheels.
all other SS stuff was optional from SLP, these include but are not limited to, a hurst shifter, exhaust, oil cooler, suspension.
I don't think the SLP airlid was an option until 2002.
The Hurst shifter is a "Chevy" option, not SS/SLP.
The decal with the date it went to SLP for the SS mods is on the back of the driver's door.
The decal with any optional SS "options" is on the back of the passenger door like Spinner & Xride said, in "plain English".
Can't speak for all year SS's, just for 2001.

my SS brochure and the peice of paper from SLP, and the sticker on my car, all list the hurst as being installed by SLP.....
maybe 96 was the only year for this???? and then LS1s got it as a factory option?

I'm ALMOST certain that in 2001 it came from Chevrolet with the Hurst option. I'm sure that if anyone had a 2001 Camaro brochure (that they can get to
) they can check if it was "Chevy" or SS option.
Thanks to all for the information! I finally looked on the passenger door panel and found the information. I was told that, just took me this long to read it right. I didn't pay attention, ( My wife tells me that all the time). So! it does have a hurst shifter, It was not listed in the SLP add ons. It came standard with the SS model then. SLP add ons were just the center exhaust, Wheels, and front grill on this car. Thats very basic compared to what they offer. I suppose the more SLP options added the value goes up. Not to many with all the options. I want to thank you all again for the information. This the best place to learn about camaros.
