Angry Power Window Failure

When I was coming home today, I hit both window switches to put them up and the passenger one rolled up halfway and stopped and then the driver's rolled about about 3 inches from closing and stopped too.

I kept fooling with the switches and eventually got them both to close. Later in the day, I went back out and both windows worked perfect.

Anyone had this happen to them?

Re: Power Window Failure

yeah the motors are going bad. there is a thermal resistor in the motor, when it starts working too hard the resistor heats up and shuts the motor down. after a little time to cool off they work again.

odd that it happened to both at the same time.

there was a thread not long ago about replacement, with a link to shoebox's awesome page.
