Power Passenger Window Problem

Passenger Window button will work to roll down the window but i have to use the drivers side passenger button to roll the window back up. Could this be a wiring issue or the window motor? Too cold to pull the door panel off right now but i'm up for suggestions.

Re: Power Passenger Window Problem

If the switch works one way but not the other then I would think the problem is most likely in the switch. If the motor were bad it wouldn't matter which side you tried to roll it up or down from. If you have a DVM, pull the switch away from the door panel and turn the key to ACC. This should get you 12vdc to the switch. Then check to see if voltage is making it through the switch to the window motor.

I know there are several wires on that switch so having a service manual that shows wiring diagrams for the chassis electrical would really help to make your troubleshooting easier.

Re: Power Passenger Window Problem

I was having sporadic problems with my pass side window not working from the drivers side - I disconnected the plug from the pass side switch - cleaned the pins, a little dielectric grease and reseated it tightly and the problem went away. I would try that first.
