Which plug wire style to go with?

Hey, I'm ordering new plug wires for my car. I'm not sure on what style to go with. I've got my wires running along the side of my valve covers in a little 4 into 3 into 2 into 1 type thing that bolts to my valve covers. I don't know if I use the "over valve cover" ones or what?

Also, I'm deciding on some new igniton wires for my car and I was hoping you guys could tell me what to go with. My choices are:

Accel 8.8mm
Blue Max wires
Accel 8mm

I'm wondering which of these will perform the best.

Thanks, Brandon

My buddy's got an 87 GTA with headers, and he just ran his Accel 8.8s from the plug and out against the inner fender. Just routing them as far away from heat as possible. No special looms, just out away from everything, (cuz they're so long) and he zipped tied a couple together and/or to stationary parts. Works just fine.

Re: Which plug wire style to go with?

I'm guessing you have a 350 by your username, what kind though..SBC,TBI, TPI, LT-1..It sounds like you have an over-the-valve cover wire setup as that is what I have and I have the same loom pattern as you on my valve covers. I had to have my wires custom made as the stock style wires would not work with that kind of setup. This may be the case for you as well. If this is so, then you may have to look into getting a universal wire kit and cut and crimp your own wires, its really not a big deal and you can make a nice clean installation yourself.

My 350's carbureted out of a '69 or '70 Camaro. You think I'm better off getting universal then?

Personally, I would think so. That way you have more control over the length of the wires and can make the install as clean as possible. If you buy a box set, you are at the mercy of whatever you get in that box. Some of the wires might be too long or too short.

I would go universal-fit anyways (I always have). This lets you cut the wires to the length you want, thus allowing you to route them in whatever manner that visually pleases you...

Allright thanks. So out of those three wires I listed (those are my 3 options) which do you think I should go with?

Cool, I'm running bluemax wires now, so it'll be good to run the same things again. When It says either red, blue, or black, does that mean the boot color or the color of the wire itself?

Re: Which plug wire style to go with?

The colors refer to the entire wire.
