Paint for lifter valley? What kind?

What do you use to paint the lifter valley on a new motor?

Don't want to break out the spray-gun for this project. Need somethign that requires a brush application or that comes in an aerosol can.

its called Glyptal you can get it as brush on or spray can but it is costly. you might be able to get it locally at an electrical supply place or you can get it here

My block was new and I made sure it was dry and clean then painted it with Tremclad rust paint and a 1" brush. I let it dry for at least a week before doing any assembly. I painted mine white and it took 3 coats to do a full cover.

Re: Paint for lifter valley? What kind?

It supposedly helps oil drainback because of the smooth, glossy surface
