Paint for lifter valley? What kind?

What do you use to paint the lifter valley on a new motor?

Don't want to break out the spray-gun for this project. Need somethign that requires a brush application or that comes in an aerosol can.

My block was new and I made sure it was dry and clean then painted it with Tremclad rust paint and a 1" brush. I let it dry for at least a week before doing any assembly. I painted mine white and it took 3 coats to do a full cover.

It supposedly helps oil drainback because of the smooth, glossy surface
