Non-Keyless Entry converting to Keyless Entry

my car has the RPO code AU3 which is just for power door locks, and power hatch release...if i have a keyless entry remote and a BCM w/ keyless entry sitting here and i install the BCM and program the remote...do i need anything else to make my car have keyless entry?

probably not, install the RKE BCM and program the remote, see if it works, if not, put the old BCM back in

one thing, the VATS functions are in the BCM, so, if the RKE BCM is used, you will need to find out if the VATS can be reprogrammed to match your car

it prly needs to be programmed for your vats. Goin to an aftermarket keyless system would be much easier in the end IMO

with 96-97 BCMs the vats and keyless entry are all programmed in the BCM, and it will recognize the resistance of the first key i put in the ignition to start the car...and then once i program the remote everything should be fine and VATS shouldnt have anything to do with it tho...right?
