N00b 2000 + Z28 question

been doing some looking around and I noticed that for the 2002 Z28 there were 3 engine options 2 being V8s one was a lower HP than the other. but neither are specified as to what they are if at all different other than programing.
my question comes down to Did chevy use the LS2 in any of its 2000-2002 Z28's?
I have done several searches and have not come up with anything definitive as of yet..

Thank you for your time!

Re: N00b 2000 + Z28 question

If the car you are looking at a labled as a "Z28", there are NO engine options. A V6 is not used in a Z28, and the 325HP V8 was only available in the optional SS package (RPO "WU8") not the Z28.

The Z28 LS1 was factory rated at 310HP. The SS LS1 was factory rated at 325HP. The engines and programming are identical. The air intake and exhaust system changes account for the SS's increased HP.

Yes, same interior mechanicals, pistons, cams- same programming. Of course, the same engine was rated 345 HP in the 'Vette. Not like any F-body owner ever changed their exhaust or intake..... ;>)
