my black rubber molding arund window falling off-what to use?

The black molding around the front window frame is coming off, I see some black goo on the inside of it, but its all dryed up and not much left. I can push it back on but every so often it falls off while driving. I went to the auto store and the only thing they had was some clear adhesie for sealing leaks-the guy said it was right, but my better judgment tells me otherwise. Is this something only the dealer has, or should i just go to a glass auto repair shop? I'm looking to spend the least amount of money. I can take a pic if you guys don't know what I'm talking about

A glass shop or auto paint store would be your best source for correct adhesives. However, I thought the weatherstripping snapped into a groove without adhesive-not positive.

there seems to be just a little adhesive in the rubber grove, so maybe somebody put it there to fix the problem. There is definitely a grove that it fits onto but its not very tight at all. I guess I'll try the glass place--As always thanks for your help.
