Locked up A/C compressor

i have a locked up compressor in my camaro. i have disconnected it electrically. i am wondering if any of you have experienced the same problem? in addition to the compressor replacement and exp/orifice tube replacement, what was the extent of other parts required to do the job so the new compressor wont self-destruct again. did your evaporator, condenser, lineset need replacing as well? was the metal carnage within the system able to be cleaned out, and most old parts re-used? thanks.

I have used a garden hose and flushed out both the condensor and evaporator more than once in the past. After flushing, use a air compressor set about 5 psi and run air through both of them until they are good and dry. The same can be done with any hose sets. Of course..have the system put on vacuum prior to the recharge.
