Lip in rear wheel well.

Has anyone cut out the weird lip in the rear wheel well for more tire clearance and to clean it up or is that two peices of metal welded together?

You mean this:

I'm sure a lot of us have hammered it to fit 315's and wide slicks in the back. I wouldn't just cut it out, since every part of a welded unit body contributes to its strength, and you've got the rear subframes right behind these panels.

Re: Lip in rear wheel well.

i used a mini-sledge and pounded mine flat for clearance. Then I painted it so it wouldn't rust(undercoat came off).
