Good evening. Have a '95 Z28. I bought a new key fob from Ebay. I jumped #4 to #8 on the port and can get it to trigger programming mode, but can't get the key fob to work. Is there anything I need to check that could be keeping the new fob from communicating?
Yes sir. The batteries are good. I followed those exact instructions as well. I also have brand new door lock buttons that are fully operational. Now I'm wondering if I received a bad key fob, or if there's some something on the vehicle that may be disabled or faulty. Something not allowing the key fob to communicate.
I did. Door locks cycle once when I jump them, but don't do anything when I press the button on the transmitter. They should cycle once the way I read it.
Just did. My apologies. As for this current issue, I dug through the owners manual and found three transmitter location. Next step for me will be to go verify everything common to the transmitter is in tact. I'll update once I know. Thanks!

And just to be clear, appears fob will not work if the jumper is not removed from the pins.
That's correct. It should cycle one time when you make the connection from 4 to 8, then cycle once again when you press a button on the fob. Then you should be able to remove the jumper and use the fob normally.
I can get the first cycle to happen, but nothing happens when I press the button when it's in program mode.
If you open the fob case up, does it expose the actual tiny button on the circuit board that the cover membrane contacts? If so, open the cover and try pressing one of the buttons on the circuit board.
Just guessing on this, I never had a problem w/ my 94 Formula remote locking. Sold the car 2 years ago, so I can’t open the fob up and look at it. But I've always found the tiny buttons on other brand vehicle fobs I've opened up in the past.
