Keeping An Engine In My Garage

I'll be purchasing a 351ci 2 valve engine in my garage and slowly rebuilding it. It will likely be there for a year or more on an engine stand. Whats the best way to do this? I've heard of engine fogging, but I don't know what it is exactly. Should I wrap it in plastic or something when it's not being worked on to keep dust and bugs out?

Thanks.

Wipe down machined surfaces with oil and cover with plastic. Just re-wipe it down every once in a while to make sure you didn't miss anything. Try to keep it the same temp if you can... hot air + cold engine = condensation.

Re: Keeping An Engine In My Garage

I've got a couple blocks and other odds and ends in storage in my garage. I have them on engine stands, and I have them wrapped in plastic garbage bags. I bought a quart of cheap oil, and a good paintbrush and I baste them in oil every so often, and so far so good!

Cool, thanks guys. Sometimes it gets hot/cold in the garage. I'll have to figure something out there.
