Re: jacking car
I don't think you had the correct jack points if your sides have bent out. A muffler shop bent mine out by placing the lift in an incorrect position. They had to unscrew it from the body, bend the brackets back and the screwed it back on. I was p**sed to say the least and have never gone back.
As for jack points, now that I have SLP diamond sub frame connectors I usually use those but before I would put the jack on the piece of steel about 1.5' from the side of the car. Never failed.

Re: jacking car
When I switch my autox or snow tires I use a sears floor jack at the correct jack points meaning not the thing that looks like a jack point under the fender.
I bent one. the problem is the rickety factory jack is a slit for the piece of bent metal/seam of two pieces to slip into, and all normal jacks are pretty much flat. as i jacked the car the weight went from straight up and down to a slight angle and the seam bent.
Im glad I am no longer alone

Re: jacking car
i always jack my drivers side up first using a frame rail that back and towards the middle of my car from my front drivers side wheel. then i can slid the jack under the front and use the crossmember that goes under the engine. but be carefull b/c my exhaust is right there and you don't want to get that at all or itll bend your pipe.

The part on the fender bottom that says "do not jack here" means don't be stupid and jack on the bottom of the fender lip! Use the plastic pad behind it for what it was intended.
Re: jacking car
My 93 Formula has no nifty plastic pads
My Z28 does though
BUT....now that the Z28 has ground effects, jacking the car up has become quite the challenge
I think when I sell my Formula I'll put some money into a nice 2 post lift.
