Ingnition Switch

How do you replace the ignition switch (Key tumbler) in a 95 firebird. I have done many in S-10s and other trucks but never in a car with and air bag and radio controls on the steering wheel. can you get to the tumbler without removing the steering wheel? and is that my problem? the car starts fine but the key will not return to the position where i can remove the key, and the steering wheel will not lock, i can hear the lock pin slipping when i turn the wheel. Easy Fix?

I don't know if this will help but it might be a start:

There is nothing there for replacing the key cylinder. You will have to remove the steering wheel to get to it.

How do you remove the steering wheel (to replace key tumbler) without screwing up the air bag? Does it just come off like a horn button or is there a way to remove the plastic colum cover without removing the wheel?
