I am currious i hear all this talk of the ILE package on the 4thgens, i know in the thirdgens ILE was nothing more then a weight reduction package concisting of better brushings, better control arms, no foglights, and no radio. and no ac. What is the 4th gen ile?

 

1LE. not ILE.

Was different shocks, springs, swaybars, thicker/less flexible bushings, radio, foglight, and a/c delete (though there was a courtesy package that added them back), and an aluminum driveshaft.

Basically a lightweight stripper with a better suspension similar to that of the SS.

 

third gens had upgraded brakes as well...don't think that held over to the 4th gens.

it made the front brakes only replaceable by other 1le components.
