GMparts direct's shipping department must be in one hell of a union. Some half stupid high school drop out is probably making $21 an hour to put stuff in boxes and tape it shut.

yeah, and they arent responcible for incorrect part #'s either. Shipping is i think a percentage of the total purchase price. Last time i ordered my shipping was 11.95 and the total came to 76 sumthin, this time it came to 50.50 with a 8.95 shipping fee. BTW its basically the same product except one costs more. And there shipping is sllloooowwww...to boot. It is supposedly shipped airborn and is supposed to be there in 2-3 days mine too a week and a half

This means if you need part number 12345678, but accidentally order part number 87654321, they will not be responsible.
However, if you order part number 12345678, and they accidentally ship you part number 23456789, thyen they will take care of it.

Most places aren't responsible for you ordering parts incorrectly -although most places usually will take them back (sometimes with a 15% restocking fee).

Actually, they're in NC. That's why NC residents pay sales tax. I believe Jason works at the dealership in south Florida.

I have dealt with GM parts direct many times in the past and must add that my most recent transaction was the first unpleasant one I have had. First they sent me 5 identical confirmation e-mails and after two weeks I didn't receive my package. I e-mailed them and received no response. Luckily the package eventually showed up.

I got charged $13.02 to ship a spoiler from them.
My one purchase was un plesent, they screwed up and didnt include all the caps I needed.

Not having a # to call, I kept sending them E mails, they finly started to reply 2 WEEKS LATER!

I kept them clean and nice, but the guy replying was a total a$$ and was no help!

I finly went to a specialty hardware store and got the caps/brackets I needed.

i too ordered from them recently and shipping was slow, not to mention their whole process. For almost two weeks, neither my credit card or my account showed any order. The only thing that kept me ordering somewhere else was a confirmation email.

I've always gone to my dealer here and asked if thats the best price they can do, I've ALWAYS gotten a price thats very compairable to jason or gmpartsdirect. and no shipping, no waiting. (Gm warehouse is in town, so its same day if I go in the moring)

One of the clubs that I belong to has an account with a local dealer. We just mention the club and get a great discount. We never pay shipping on special orders because they just include the stuff with regular shipments that they get anyway. If you don't belong to an organized club, just get to know the guys at the parts counter. Find a couple that seem to be cool and they will take care of you. You might have to try a different dealer, but it will be worth it. The dealer I use for parts is across town from me.

Parts only, ofcourse.

PJ hit the nail on the head with the club thing.

Our club members get discounts with 2 GM dealers here in Memphis and their prices usually rival GMPartsDirect. We pay tax, but don't get raped on shipping.
