Question ILE vs Stock Trans mount

I'm currently installing a BMR torque arm and as long as I'm at it will install a new trans mount. What is the difference between a ILE 22146231 mount and a stock 22201140 mount? I've heard the aftermarket poly mounts create too much vibration in the car.
Any opinions???

I can tell you I have had a poly mount in for about 1.5 years and even though peopl say it will finally break in...it still vibrates. I dont know much about the 1le except that it is stronger than stock. I am doin a rebuild with heads and cam so I'm glad i have it now, but with basically stock motor the poly was almost too much vibration.

The 22146231 is no longer available. They replaced it with another number that covers the stock mount and 1LE and it is more like the stock mount. Some people have been using an LS1 mount that seems to be better (more like the old 1LE).

IMO, I'd just get the poly mount. Those who say it vibrates too much are panty-waists and should be driving Caddys for their smooth ride.

The LS1 has a torque-limiter so it won't tear like the stock or 1LE mounts do - highly recommended.

Ive had a Poly mount for about 8 months....Id recommend it. It doesnt add much noticable noise, and It really stiffens up the trans(the shifter doesnt move as much). Also , If you have long tubes, this mod will minimize exhaust movement as well.

I phoned the dealership a week or two ago and they said that the part number that replaced 22146231 is 22201140. They just combined it into the newer part number from the sounds of it. I'm thinkin about going with this newer LS1 mount after havin gone through a poly mount and not liked it at all.

I think vibration problems are worse with the autos. I didn't notice much difference with mine

I think that is what I previously said.

I didn't bother with the new p/n, because no one is going to want it, anyway.

I called the local GM dealership today and got the following part number for a 98 LS1 with a 6 speed: 22174970. I'm going to order from gmpartsdirect.com. Thanks everyone, for your input.....

Aren't the LS1 tranny mounts more money than the 1LE mount? When I put a 1LE inplace of my stocker last year my shifter was wayyy stiffer! Probably good to change it once every year or 2 if you do alot of hard lauches and shifts.

Yes, they are more, but as was stated previously, the 1LE is no longer available as the mount it used to be. The combined part number mount is like the stock mount.
