I cannot get the key to unlock the ignition cylinder(94 Z28 ). It did it once before but I was able to jiggle it til it turned. Got home Sunday morning but headed out later and this time no amount of jigglling will get it to turn. Any ideas?

 

Disconnect the ign switch on the colum to make sure that the switch itself is not stuck. If it turns then the ign switch is bad, if not you need to get into the colum and see if the Key tumbler is bad ect ect

Apply a lot of force. This happened to me once for some reason. I was parked on a slope with a steep grade and it sounded like I broke something in it once I got it to turn but it worked fine. No problems afterwards.

 

This may sound stupid but if the steering wheel is exerting force against the lock, it will be VERY Hard to turn the ignition key. Did you try moving the steering wheel side to side??

 

Well folks , I finally got it to act right,back on the freeways and parked my Maxima.
