I think the window motor is dead?

The passengerside window will go down like half way and then only like an inch at a time up or down after that, is that the motor or is there a bad connection, Im sure sombody has had this problem since I heard that the power windows suck in our cars. And if someone knows the problem tell everything I need to fix it.

Yep, replace the motor. There are decent tutorials online for how to do it. It happened in my Trans Am and my 91 Camaro.

That's a pretty common problem and it's almost always the motor. I have replaced a couple camaro window motors including in my own camaro.

I got a new one off ebay for cheap - but I'd recommend paying a few bucks more and getting one with a lifetime warranty - Autozone.

Cheap ones are usually cheap for a reason. I wouldn't waste my time with one that didn't have a lifetime warranty.

I found one with a lifetime warranty on ebay.

Write up on how to replace your power window motor.

Re: I think the window motor is dead?

ive replaced my driverside motor twice and my passenger once. DO NOT GET A MOTOR FROM AUTO ZONE! as already stated they are cheap for a reason. i put in an AC Delco and its still going strong. i believe the autozone motor is lifetime warranty but not worth the pain in the butt of gutting that long A$$ door. if the motor hasnt been replaced yet be prepared to drill through some rivets to change the motor out. its not very complicated but i could think of a thousand things i would rather do. good luck

Autozone surely has not made profit abundance from me buying their lifetime warrentied products. The free parts are nice, but changing them just isn't.

I think I'm going to start buying a lot more AC delco parts.

What does a factory window motor run?

Re: I think the window motor is dead?

now what? I'm driving home today and go to roll up the drivers side window the one that works, and it stops half way, does that mean this side is dead now too? Or is it something else? Did they both just quit at the same time by coincidence?
