I know it's an old subject but....the fan switch

I've searched all over the site and I've see all the schematics of how to do it but I'm down to one question. What gauge wire do you need to do the manual fan setup for 93-97 f-bodies and also is it a problem that my camaro is a v6? I heard it still would work just the same. Thanks guys

Wire gauge...I think mine came with 16, it's not very thick stuff. I havent' taken a look at it in a while. But it was the first modification I did to my LT1 6-7 years ago. Although this subject has recently gained importance with my new addition of a stock LT1. Mind posting the links you found with schematics?

You're tying into the "signal" side of the relays, so no heavy amp loads. Just match the size of the wire you are tying into.

Seems like no one wants to take the time to look at Shoebox's site for this stuff:

The gauge of the relay control wires is 22. The idea is the same for the V6, but depending on year and the number of fans you have, there will be some slight differences in the circuit(s).

so will I need to use a different setup so as not to set of a SES code? Like use different resistors and whatnot?

Might be able to tell you if we knew something about your car (besides it being a V6). Most people put car info in a signature.

Yes.... ADD A SIGNATURE with basic info about your car = year, model, engine, tranny and any major mods.

Not all years are the same, particularly with regard to the fan setup. You need to provide the info up front, to that people can help you without making a lot of guesses and assumptions. Anything less hurts your chances of getting help.

Now that we know what you are driving...

You will need to follow this diagram using the resistors indicated. Your V6 fans are wired just like the LT1 fans.
