Help! VSS question

Hello have a question on a 1987 camaro z28 Iroc. getting a code 24 , I looked it up and it says VSS. My spedometer is turned off and sometimes the car stalls .My question is this, Is the VSS located on the transmission or is it somewhere in the dash. How do i know which to change..Any help would be appreciated thanks

Generally, the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is on the tailshaft housing of the transmission. This is a T56, so it obviously not specific to your car, but it may give you an idea where to look?
