gotta code 42

can somebody tell me what i should do i have a code 42

Generally helps to know the year of the car and the specific engine in the car. DTC 42 is ignition related, and the ignition systems vary quite a bit between the HEI, Opti, V6 etc.

Why not add a "signature" with basic info about your car, like year, model, engine, tranny and any major mods. That way people can respond to your questions more accurately.

ok its a 93 rebuilt motor aftermarket chip cai 3 inch flows 2800 stall and 3.73 auburns

For the '93, its might be faulty connection, bad ECM or Ignition Control Module...
DTC 42 Ignition Control Circuit(grounded circuit) usually shows up during cranking......

put a new ignition control module and it seems to have solved the problem
