Fuel pump acess

Has anyone cut a hole in the floor in the back of the car and made an acess pannel to get to the fuel pump with out having to drop the entire tank?

I cut the hole and made a panel. Much faster and cheaper!

Here's a couple pics.

That looks great. I would suggest using a rust inhibitor of some kind on the exposed edges before patching it over, though. I'd also recommend using an aluminum patch so it doesnt rust.

Nice idea.

Re: Fuel pump acess

I did it an highly recommend you cut the hatch too. It was quick and easy. It also made my life a lot easier when i went to fire the car up and realized the gas gauge wasn't reading right. I would of been real hot if i had to drop the tank again but instead i just opened the hatch. Like the others have said do a search in the LT1 section someone has the exact measurements of where to cut and some pics too. Thats what i used.
