Fuel gauge stuck at full?

The car was recently lifted from the back end to put on new tires abs since then the gauge is stuck on full. I thought maybe it was just stuck so I put a piece of wire in through the odometer reset and moved it to 1/2. Soon as I turned the ignition on it slowly went back full. Burried full. People are telling me the float is stuck. Or could the sensor of went out randomly? In which case... I'm thinking of going the trap door route to get to the fuel pump. If you have experience with stuck floats could you explain to me how I would go about making it unstuck?

Perhaps you should do some investigation.

Did you jack the car up by the differential?. The fuel pump wires run right above it, maybe something was knocked loose? try checking those connections.

Still stuck on full? Time to pull out the rubber hammer and start wacking the bottom of the tank to losen the float...don't dent it though.

FYI. im no expert the the rubber hammer has worked wonders in the past.
