Fuel ??
Fuel ??
I have had a problem with my vehicle cranking but not turning over .. It doesnt seem to be building pressure in the system . And one of the wires came off were the vacaum lines run to the fuel pressure reg. Would that deff cause it not to get fuel to start ?
Re: Fuel ??
Im pretty sure the vacuum line going to the regulator is to increase fuel pressure when the RPMs go up but that shouldn't cause the engine not to start. Have you taken a pressure reading yet? Also listen for the fuel pump to kick on when you turn the car to "run"
Re: Fuel ??
You need a fuel pressure gauge to see what's going on. The fuel pump primes the system for about 2 seconds when the ignition key is turned to ON, not start. Measure the fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail. The pressure should be 41 - 46 PSI with the vacuum line remove from the fuel pressure regulator and should only drop slightly when the fuel pump shuts off. If the pressure drops to zero quickly you have:
a faultly check valve in the fuel pump
one or more leaky fuel injectors
a faulty fuel pressure regulator
an external leak in your fuel lines

Re: Fuel ??
Press the valve core on the Schrader connection and see if you have fuel pressure (it will spray out if you do). If you don't have any pressure, use the "fuel pump prime" connector (near the PCM on an F-Body, or are you talking about a Corvette LT1 - your screen name is confusing) to try and turn the pump on. That bypasses the fuel pump relay.
It would be a whole lot simpler to just measure the fuel pressure.
Why not add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, tranny and any major mods. That way people could provide you with more accurate answers.
