Fix for sagging door? Can I add power windows to my car?
Fix for sagging door? Can I add power windows to my car?
My driver side door is sagging, it isn't very bad (about half an inch) but the passenger side door doesn't sag at all (it has a problem too though, it rattles when I close it). I'm getting my car painted soon and I don't want the door rubbing the paint off because it's sagging if the problem is easily fixable. Is there any fix for this?
Second question, is it possible to add power windows to my car if I get all the components off of a donor car (like from a salvage yard)? Are the power windows a stand alone system or is it integrated with a computer or some other stuff or some crap like that?
Thanks

Door sagging: You need to replace the door hinges, as they are the weak link.. I don't know much more than that, it's been talked about a lot though on TGO (thirdgen.org)
Power windows: Sure, it's possible. You'd need the window switches, relays, wiring, possibly some window mounting hardware (not sure), and door panels, unless you're going to cover the hole from the crank yourself
