The cruise control NEEDS the third brake light to function in order to operate properly? My car seems to have busted this myth, so I'm just curious as to why....perhaps I misunderstand. Anyone?

 

ive never tried, but it sounds like complete BS to me. i have LED bulbs for my 3rd brake light, and most cars see those as no bulb if they care, and mine works perfectly fine.

 

That's what I'm thinking. I understand the third brake light has something to do with ABS working properly as well, but I have no power to the third brake light, and my CC works seamlessly. I was actually going to hook up the LED third light on my recently installed SS spoiler, and was wondering if it would knock my cruise out. I haven't had power to the spoiler since converting my tail to the LS taillights last summer. Glad to hear yours is functional with the LED without further modification, e.g. Resistor, relay coil...going to try to feed it off the brake light circuit soon i think

 

yep, none of that stuff. got a clear housing, and the bulbs it came with looked pink, so i ordered some cheapo ebay LED bulbs as temps, but i actually like it, so its staying, lol
