Engine coolant change

Engine coolant change
Hi,
I am replacing Engine Coolant on my 96 TA MN6.
I need to replace my dummy low coolant sensor.
So it would be perfect timing to change whole coolant.
I think I need to remove underneath the radiator and two freeze bolts on the engine block ?
I think it requires 50% 50% mix.
I am thinking 50 % distil water 50% Dex cool.
What is the capacity for the coolant ?
Did I have miss any thing ?

Re: Engine coolant change
You may want to flush the heater core, too.
The plug in the block for the water jacket and the knock sensor can be frozen in place and hard to remove. Be prepared for a possible struggle and even damaging the knock sensor. While it is advisable to remove both of these to get complete drainage, a reasonable flush can be done without removing them. Alternately, you could have a shop do it with a coolant flush machine.

Here's a link to a free download of the 1996 factory service manual, courtesy of GaryDoug:

Some capacities are shown in the Owner's Manual, free download direct from GM if you don’t have one:

When you buy the coolant, make sure you get the kind you want. Some is available straight (100%), And some is premixed with water (50%/50%)
