Eliminate/Modify Condenser Shroud

Found a place i would like to mount my tranny oil cooler. The plastic piece that goes in the FRONT of the a/c condenser is slightly in the way. Is it ok to delete or cut a piece out to make the cooler fit. I know that air to cool the motor is routed up through the bottom, Im not sure if the plastic piece on the front of the condenser plays a role. It looks like it only holds it in place from the top, the thicker piece in the middle of the shroud maybe directs air flow into the radiator. It seems to easy to delete this piece, it has to have a purpose....

I'd go look at my car for you, but the condensor has been deleted and I have an aftermarket radiator. What you don't want to cut into is the big curved panel that sweeps up from the bottom opening, right in front of the air dam. That guides the pressurized air into the condensor and radiator.

The shop manual isn't very clear on the structure either.

Re: Eliminate/Modify Condenser Shroud

Here is a pic of my '94 w/B&M SuperCooler model #70264 (6 X 11 X 1.5 inches) installed w/my Yank SS3200. It squeezed it up in front of the condenser w/o any cutting or modification required. As Fred stated that plastic shroud on top of the cooler (can't see in pic) guides air from the air dam to the condenser/radiator. I was concerned about the B&M blocking some air to the cooling system, but never saw a blip on the temp gauge between before and after .
