Question electrical problem

Hi
I have a 1990 camaro z 28 . That has a couple of problems.
In the winter time + 15 or or less when starting the gauges will peg
out for a moment and slowly go back to normal. It has a digital display of how many miles where driven, this also resets or go`s back to O. But the display that says how many miles is in the car dont . This has never done
this before untill I had the battery changed last year . Is the battery to big for the car ???
Second . Now this year, The car it has electric windows, If I push down one of the buttons, the radio go`s out, the windows will not roll down or back up( if you get them down ,) (eather one,) every thing else seams to works that I know of. It will stay this way for 30 sec up to maybe 3 min. I have also notice when this happons the radio will not stay on for a timed amount like it should, or untill the door is opend. So when every thing is working its great .
Has any one had this problem .
Help !

Wrong forum.... let's move this to "General 1967-2002 F-Body Tech".

The problem you describe is common with the 98's. I beleive there may have been a dealer techical service bulletin (TSB) for the problem with the trip odometer resetting in cold weather.

The windows and radio are connected through the RAP (retained accessory power) feature that is part of the body control module (BCM).

There will be 98 owners who can help you in the "General..... Tech" forum.

He said 1990, not 1998. I don't think 1990 Z28s had RAP.

Good luck getting an answer!
