Electrical Problem

98 TA A4 150k miles stock
Problem is with the power to the radio and power windows/locks. I can be going down the road and my radio will shut off and the windows/locks at both doors won't work. I'm not loosing total power to the radio because i don't loose my presets. it might stay off for a few seconds and go back off and on or it my stay off for an hour. It's really starting to **** me off because i can't figure it out. I've checked connections at the radio and the window motors. It's obviously somewhere else but after looking at a schematic i'm even more lost.

Anyone got any suggestions or better yet know the fix?

The power door locks don't work at all? What about the keyless entry?

I'm having a sort of problem... but I haven't driven the car yet for any extended distance. Will do this weekend.

Both the sound system and the power windows are fed through the RAP (Retanied Accessory Power) module. If you have an intermittent power problem, check the RAP module. Not sure if they ever integrated the RAP module with the BCM (body control module), or what year they might have done it.

ok im bringing the thread back to life, because im having the same exact problems, except my doorlocks still work. where exactly is RAP, and BCM? How do i test to see if they are bad? also i nolonger have low beams, just highs and fog lights. could this module be acting funky that it wont give me any low beams?

For the lights issue, I'd check the two ground on the rad support under the hood. Look near the high beams on the frame support and you'll see a set of wires bolted to the body on either side. Check for contact. Clean and reseat.
