E-Cutout Switch and placement

Ok, I've decided to get an Electric Cut out, probably from QTEC. I noticed there was a GP on these a couple months ago and people look pleased with them. I wanted to know if you could use a different switch for the cutout then the one that comes with it. I ask because I would *really* like the cutout switch to be next to the ASR/Fog Light switch on the dash. I thought I have read somewhere that you could use the 'Raise/Lower Roof Button' off a convertable. That would be the best as it would blend perfectly on the dash.

I put mine near the fog light switch, you can't really see it from anywhere in the car unless you stick your head near the steering wheel- and I liked it hidden that way. I have the DMH btw and it is excellent. Linked to photo below.

I have mine on the side of the ash tray. When you flip up the ash tray lid look to the far right side. There is a little dip on the right of the ash tray that is covered by a little rubber thingie. Pull the rubber thingie out and mount the switch here. It's an awesome place because then passengers won't play with the switch, and if you let someone borrow your car it is hidden out of plain view.

Tair, I like that to. If it doesn't match perfect I'll try to hide it best as possible. your setup sounds very similar to mine (2.73, Flowmaster 80, K&N, TBB). I was wondering if you had any dyno proven results? If no dyno, were you able to feel any difference using the good ol' butt-o-meter ?

LOLOL holy crap, never knew that! After buying my car used I had to drill out the wheel locks cause the key wasn't provided! haha, o well.....PewterZ you'll LOVE the DMH cutout. In terms of butt-o-meter performance it wasn't noticable at all for me, but after I installed the DMH I ran 1.5 tenths faster and picked up a SOLID 1.5mph! VERY impressive gains over the flowbastard. This was when I had Flowmaster 80, K&N FIPK, and TBB only. The Z28 sounds awesome with the cutout open, I can't wait till I have the $$ for my long tubes! After you install the cutout you'll notice that if you close the cutout, after driving around for about 1 minute, the Flowmaster 80 series sounds STOCK or even quieter! lol. PM me if you need any specific advice.

I went with the McCord MPP2 and had them pre-wire the convert. top switch for mine. I love the stock look.
