Well obviously theres alot of things that could go wrong, its even possible that it could be a fuse/relay problem or something, or even the switch, but most likely its the motor and thats the best place to start, those things suck anways, have a life of like 30,000mi normal use.

I just finished replacing my window motor today. $56 at AutoZone. Wasn't too bad a job. Also stuck a little "JB Weld" on that wobbly roller post. Works great now

Well...diagnosing a car is just like a doctor diagnosing a patient. You look at the symptoms and make a decision based on experience. When it comes to power window issues it's almost always the motor that is the problem. Look at all the people from this message board who have had power window issues and it's almost always the motor. It COULD be another problem with the window but chances are it's not.

The window regulator is the mechanical link between the window motor and the window itself. There are tracks and rollers which control height. It's a unit that looks like a pair of scissors. The window is counterbalanced with a spring to help keep the weight of the window neutral. In some cases the rollers become beat or the unit will rust and stiffen up.
