Door removal and replacement/install?

Did a search for door install or door removal, but didn't find anything.

Just wondering what the easiest way is to remove the doors and then replace them.

Is it pretty easy and straightforward? I will have to do this when i get the car back in a few days.

thanks
Zeeshan

Re: Door removal and replacement/install?

found an old post

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...highlight=door

so hopefully that will help, seems pretty straightforward and i did the 98-02 front end conversion, so hopefully that gives a little experience in aligning the stuff.

Re: Door removal and replacement/install?

I replaced my driver door, and it is very straight forward. Just take all the wiring out of the door first, or atleast get it started. Then start unbolting it. If you need to keep the same door I suggest getting a jackstand underneath the door so it doesn't slam to the ground. Once it's unbolted take the rest of the wiring out, and presto! It just takes a while to unbolt/rebolt the door since it is in a hard to reach spot. Aligning the door isn't so hard. I drew a line with a pencil where the hinge and fender meet so I could keep some kind of reference. It took me about 3 or so hours total to get the old door off and the new one on.
