Door Locks.

OK here's the scoop. My keyless entry works fine i can unlock, lock, pop the trunk and make it panic all day long. However, when trying to LOCK the car with the buttons (Both doors) on the inside of the car , it will not lock. It will however UNLOCK when pressing the buttons on the inside of the car. Someone let me know what i need to look for so i can fix this minor detail PLease

Re: Door Locks.

Do the 96s have a lock out feature? Sounds like what might have been activated somehow. I don't know how to change that on a 96.

Re: Door Locks.

Ok, it gets even worse. Now when im driving my car around and still cant lock the doors when i press the button. Now all the sudden my door locks start locking without me even touching the button. Ill unlock them then the car will lock itself back within seconds? My car is possesed? Its locks itself while im driving but wont responde to the button locks. Even when im outside of my car and have locked it with the keyless entry and the horn beeps twice and also the red light on the dash is flashing, i can sit there and listen to it try and lock itself over and over as im standing outside of it not touching a thing...WTF IS GOING ON?

Re: Door Locks.

Sounds like something happening in your BCM or maybe you have a chafed wire somewhere touching to ground.

If remove the driver’s side kick panel, you will see two thick black wires with ring connectors that attach to the grounding stud, make certain you have a solid ground at this location.

However, If you have an alarm with keyless entry, I’m betting you have a bad ground on the alarm module.

The reason why you can’t lock the doors anymore is because you already burned out part of the power lock switches, very soon you won’t be able to unlock them as well.

After you fix the bad ground, you need to replace both power door lock switches, so order a pair A.S.A.P.

Keep us posted.

Re: Door Locks.

Also, check your alarm module harness for a lose wire connection that connects to the vehicle’s “orange” accessory wire. A lose connection there would also cause your locks to flicker.
