Door courtesy switch removal

The switch on the door frame which is for the courtesy lights in my 94 z28 needs to be replaced. However, I’m not sure if the switch can be removed from the front. Since the switch is enclosed by the car body, it doesn't look like an easy job, if it’s a rear removal and install. If anyone can provide me with some insight on the removal and install process of this little switch, I would be thankful.

As I recall, the exposed portion of the switch is a hex head. You put a socket on it and unscrew it from the body. No need to access behind the body panel. The single wire (switch shorts the wire to ground to complete the courtesy light circuit) is loose enough to accomodate the rotations of the switch required to remove it.

Thanks for the reply Injuneer. I saw the hex nut that you’re talking about last night. So this evening, I will take my socket and remove the switch as you have listed. Thanks again for you help..
