It just pulls of.
Maybe a pry carefully with a small screwdriver.

Just pull off the piece around the vents and radio, it comes straight off, then flip it over and you will see some little tabs and just press those and it falls off, I wouldn't use any tools because the plastic can break easily.

Ok, so i would pull towards me as in me sitting in the drivers seat or i would pull upwards like i was lifting it off. I am just really paranoid when it comes to my car. Thanks

Just pull it straight out.
Not toward you just straight out.

Re: Dash Plaque

I'm in the process of installing the "Camaro SS" dash plaque for my car as well. I have no problem removing the old "Camaro" plaque with the raised red letters.

For those who have done this mod in the past, did you just remove the old piece and stick the plaque on top of the vent piece, using the self adhesive strip provided? I noticed that when I line it up, there's a very small gap that can be seen where the two "button holes" are. There probably isn't enough space to notice, but I wanted to see if this was normal.

Thanks for any replies!

Re: Dash Plaque

I removed my original Camaro SS plaque and put one on with the hp., tq., engine size, etc.

First I used a hair dryer and ran it on high aiming it at the plaque. After a few minutes I was able to remove it by taking a piece of fishing line and sliding it behind the plaque. Be careful removing the plaque as it will bend pretty easily. I cleaned the area and installed the new plaque.

As for the original, I have not placed it anywhere else. IMO, too many plaques, decals, etc. cheapens the look of the car.

Re: Dash Plaque

So was there a bracket for the "Camaro SS" plaque? When I removed the rasied, red-lettered, "Camaro" plaque, I noticed that it was about a half inch smaller horizontally than the "Camaro SS".

I think it wood look strange if I filed down the raised letters and attached the "Camaro SS" plaque on top of the old plaque.

Does anyone have any close up pics of the plaque/vent area?
