Cure for pinging

I think my 92 had been pinging lately. I run 87 because that's what it calls for but intend to run 89 til I fix whatever's wrong. Is there a simple fix for this? Like maybe running some injector cleaner or something in it?

Re: Cure for pinging

Injector cleaner probably wont help. What happens is on a higher mile engine carbon builds up and since carbon retains heat your combustion chamber is hotter and more compressed, thus causing the gas to ignite before its supposed to. (detonation) or spark knock. The solution is to either run premium all the time or get the carbon buildup out. Try seafoaming it and you may have good results.

i would seafoam it first and see how that works. If not just run higher octane.
