Re: Cooling system problems....

Post #6 answers your question. I use Prestone "mixes with all types" in all my vehicles, even the dex cool from the factory one.

so I got the car back and the cooling system is filled with water since I have to replace the radiator today. The car stayed right at operating temperature the whole time but smoke was pouring out of the A/C vents..... it smelled sort of like coolant.

could it be from the coolant that got on the heater core burning off from when the hose blew off last week?

how does one remove the radiator from the AC condenser? I have everything off of the radiator and it is ready to come out, but I can't get it off the condenser.

any tips?

You have to lift it off the tabs on the condenser (look on the sides of the tank). I always find it harder to get back into place than remove it.

I know but I'm having trouble removing the radiator from the tabs on the condenser.

Do I just have to push extremely hard upwards to get it off? I have the right side off but i can't budge the left.
