What is the box that is mounted to the left of my OBD2 port? It looks like I could plug into the front of it. But I have no idea what it is for.

Nothing I have seen from the factory. Wires to it go where?

I pulled the panels under the steering wheel off. The port has 5 black wires coming out of the back of it. the little box has no markings or numbers on it.
One of the five wires is grounded
the other four wires are sliced into the large yellow wire that runs under the dash.
The yellow wire is cut. two black wires from the box go to one end of cut yellow wire, and the other two black wires go to the other end of cut yellow wire.
I will post more and better pics.

did u just recently buy it.it looks like an on time system buy her pay here car lots put them on so if u dont make ur payment it kills ur ignition so it wont start.installed alot of them for a car lot

 

I have had it for two years, and the buddy I bought it from had it since 2003 I think. And he spoke about the prior owner like he knew him well.
But it doesn't look like it has any kind of transmit or recieve functions.
But there could be a chip plugged into the front of it.
