Buy the window motor with regulator or without?

I have the typical window problem on my 01 Camaro. The drivers side window only goes about a couple of inches at a time then I need to wait a while to try again and get it to move a couple of more inches before it stops.

I have downloaded the instructions to install the motor, but when I went to Autozone to buy the motor, they came up with two different motors int he computer...one with a regulator (139.99 I think) and the motor without the regulator (around $60.00).

I'm not to sure which one to get. Is "regulator" short for voltage regulator?

The regulator is the arm assembly (scissors looking thing) that moves the window up and down. You want just the motor.

Thanks! I'll be using your guide to do the swap next week!

if it doesn't cost a whole lot extra... get the whole thing. Putting the regulator on the motor is painfull... because of the spring situation. At least the 1st or 2nd time you do it. My advice if you do it is to wind it around and put a screw driver through the hole to hold it still while you bolt the motor to it.
