Bought a 93z m6 today

Picked up a red 93 z28 m6 today. Its got 143k miles and its got a few querks to it. The boy that sold it to me said it heats up sometimes and he had the defroster turned on the cool side on high all the time said that it helped. The only other thing that concerns me is the transmission, it shifts smoothly in all gears but in reverse it likes to pop out, alot. If im very easy on the clutch it will go for a few seconds without popping out but even with holding it in and being very easy on the clutch it still pops out. synchros? This is the 2nd 93 ive owned, I only had the other for a few months but I plan to get this one in correct running order. please advise me on anythign else I need to know about the 93's, thanks

The 93 LT1's are significantly different from all the other years. Its worth doing a "search" for the thread that details the differences. The fact that it has one of two "unique" T56's (M28 and M29) may be important to your current question.

We actually have a thread here on CamaroZ28.com. There is no need to send people packing off to another site.

Isn't it funny, that after the dust settles, everyone eventually comes back here for help.

To keep temp down, install a jet fan switch. Available from Summit Racing. I've put them on 2 LT1s, they work great.

Synchros...in reverse? Those don't usually exist. There may be exceptions, but I doubt a T56 is one. Being that it has a reverse lockout and all...

Probably a bad trans mount--or at least something of that sort of out of alignment.

Actually there is a reverse synchro on the t56. It allows you to shift into reverse @ under 5 mph. HTH
